LensTrail (also known as “影迹” in Chinese) is a camera GPS logger for Apple Watch. It records timestamped locations during photography sessions and generates GPX files for matching camera photos by capture time. This policy explains how LensTrail handles information.
1. We do not collect your data
LensTrail does not require an account and contains no advertising, third-party analytics SDKs, or user-tracking SDKs. We do not collect, upload, sell, or share your location, tracks, usage information, or other personal data.
2. Use of location data
LensTrail requests and uses When In Use location permission only after you actively start a recording. While a recording is in progress, the app uses watchOS background location capabilities so the current track can continue when the display is off or you temporarily leave the app interface.
LensTrail stops location updates when you pause or end a recording, when permission is lost, or when a serious storage error occurs. The app does not request Always location permission.
3. On-device storage
Photography sessions, GPS points, and generated GPX files remain within LensTrail’s app container on your Apple Watch. They are not sent to the developer’s servers or automatically uploaded anywhere. You can rename or delete individual sessions in the app. Uninstalling the app will normally remove data in its app container, but copies you previously shared are outside LensTrail’s control.
4. GPX sharing
LensTrail does not use iCloud Drive, CloudKit, WebDAV, or any automatic cloud synchronization. A selected GPX file leaves the Apple Watch app container only when you explicitly open the system share sheet and choose a destination.
LensTrail keeps the original GPX file in its local container. A shared copy is then handled by the device, app, or service you selected under that recipient’s own privacy policy. Renaming or deleting a local session does not change or remove copies you previously shared.
5. Logs and diagnostics
Local diagnostic logs record only session states and categories of errors. They do not include precise coordinates, track names, or complete file contents. LensTrail does not automatically send these logs to the developer.
6. Children’s privacy
LensTrail is not designed to collect personal data from children and does not knowingly collect personal data from users of any age.
7. Changes to this policy
If LensTrail’s data practices change, we will update this page and the “Last updated” date above, and provide notice through the app or its App Store information where appropriate.
